Our Commitment to Disease Prevention and Treatment.
As we observe Disease Prevention and Treatment Month, I am proud to highlight the impactful contributions our club has made towards this vital theme. Our commitment to improving health outcomes in our community is evident through various initiatives, including the recent Kasawo Medical Camp, which focused on the diagnosis and treatment of communicable diseases.
During the Kasawo Medical Camp, we successfully provided treatment to 164 patients suffering from non-communicable conditions. This initiative not only addressed immediate health concerns but also contributed significantly to the stock of essential medications for hypertension and diabetes at Kasawo Health Centre III. Our efforts ensure that individuals receive the necessary care and resources to manage their health effectively.
In addition to our medical camps, we organized a blood donation drive in August to honor our esteemed club member, Rtn Jjagwe Ronald. This event not only celebrated his contributions but also reinforced our commitment to saving lives through community engagement and support.
Recognizing the importance of education in health, our club has actively worked to bridge the knowledge gap among various groups through fellowship facilitation and community engagements. By fostering discussions and sharing information, we empower individuals with the knowledge they need to make informed health decisions.
Looking ahead, we are excited to announce our upcoming partnership with the Abigail Foundation, an organization dedicated to advocating for autism awareness among children. This collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to addressing the gaps in diagnosis, management, and information sharing about non-communicable diseases in Uganda.
Together, we are making strides in disease prevention and treatment, ensuring a healthier future for our communities. Let us continue to work hand in hand towards a healthier, more informed society.
