14 February 2026

Kampala, Uganda – The Rotary Club of Uptown Kampala was honoured to host the District Governor Rtn Geoffrey Kitakule. The event featured the launch of a community library, a vital resource aimed at empowering women and girls with access to knowledge and learning opportunities. This was made possible in partnership with KCB Bank Uganda and Mkazipreneur.

During the visit, the District Governor also engaged in a Peace and Conflict resolution dialogue with Ntinda women market vendors, beneficiaries of the Rotary programs, in honor of the Peace and Conflict Resolution/Prevention month.

The climax of the event included a fellowship ceremony, where new inductees and Paul Harris Fellows (PHFs) were pinned, recognizing their commitment to Rotary’s mission.

“The launch of this community library is a testament to the Rotary Club of Uptown Kampala’s dedication to education and community development. We hope the community embraces this initiative in order to support their knowledge expansion,” said Immy Nakyeyune, Charter President of the Rotary Club of Uptown Kampala. “We are thrilled to have the District Governor join us to witness this milestone and celebrate our members’ achievements.”

The Rotary Club of Uptown Kampala is a vibrant community of individuals united by a passion for service and making a difference in Kampala. This event showcased their commitment to creating positive change in the community.
