On the 25th of October 2025, the Rotary Club of Uptown Kampala successfully organized a Medical Camp at Kasawo Health Centre III in Mukono District. The event aimed to extend quality healthcare services to the community as part of the club’s ongoing commitment to promoting health and wellness through service.
The camp commenced at 8:00 AM and ran until 6:00 PM, attracting residents from Kasawo and the surrounding areas. A wide range of essential health services were offered, including:
- General medical consultations
- Treatment of common medical conditions, with emphasis on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)
- Dental health services
- Sickle cell screening
- HIV screening, testing, and counseling
- Antenatal care services
- Reproductive and Maternal Child Health (MCH) services such as family planning and immunization
- Other laboratory check-ups
In total, 367 people received medical attention through the various service points:
- Outpatient Department (OPD): 164
- MCH Services: 49 (Immunization – 39, ANC and Family Planning – 10)
- Laboratory Services: 208 (Sickle Cell Screening – 103, Other Lab Tests and HIV Testing – 105)
- Dental Services: 10
All patients diagnosed with conditions were treated and provided with the necessary medications.
As part of the outreach, the Rotary Club of Uptown Kampala donated NCD drugs and other assorted medicines worth UGX 500,000 to Kasawo Health Center III to support continued service delivery to the community.
The success of this medical camp was made possible through the dedication of club members and collaboration with partner Rotary and Rotaract clubs, including Rotary Club of Bweyogerere Namboole and Rotaract Club of Bweyogerere Namboole.
We also extend special appreciation to our valued partners and sponsors whose support made this event impactful: Microlabs, I-Care, EAMV, Revital Healthcare Limited, Mkaziprenuer, Widespectrum Limited, and General Medicare. Their contributions in supplies, expertise, and logistics played a crucial role in reaching and serving hundreds of community members.
We further extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Projects Docket team and all club members who dedicated their time, skills, and resources to ensure the successful execution of this impactful community project.
We are delighted by the success of this initiative, which left the Kasawo community healthier, happier, and more hopeful for a better tomorrow.
