Rotary Club of Uptown Kampala Brings Free Medical Services to Kasawo Community
As part of its commitment to service and building healthier communities, the Rotary Club of Uptown Kampala organized a successful free medical outreach on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Kasawo Health Centre III in Mukono District.
The outreach brought together Rotarians, medical professionals, and volunteers who dedicated their time and expertise to serve more than 500 community members with a range of essential health services.
Bringing Health Services Closer to the People
During the outreach, residents accessed comprehensive medical services including general medical examinations and consultations, immunization, deworming, and child health services. The medical team also provided malaria testing and treatment, HIV testing and counselling, dental care and extractions, as well as cancer screening for cervical, prostate, and breast cancers.
Additional services offered included hepatitis B and sickle cell screening, family planning, mental health care, and psychosocial support. Medicines and mama kits were distributed to expectant mothers and other patients in need.
Speaking at the outreach, Charter President Immy Nakyeyune emphasized the club’s dedication to advancing Rotary’s focus on disease prevention and treatment.
“We wanted to make a real difference in people’s lives by addressing some of the most pressing health challenges faced in underserved communities,” said Immy Nakyeyune.
Beyond Health: Supporting Education and the Environment
In addition to the medical outreach, club members visited Kitale R/C Primary School, where they planted 100 fruit trees within the school compound as part of Rotary’s commitment to protecting the environment. The club also donated mathematical sets and scholastic materials to Primary Seven pupils to wish them success in their upcoming national exams.
A Collaborative Effort
The Rotary Club of Uptown Kampala extended heartfelt appreciation to its partners, sponsors, and all Rotarians who dedicated their time and resources to make the outreach a success, a true reflection of the Rotary spirit of #RotaryEyamba.
Key partners and sponsors included Mkazipreneur, Microlabs, C-Care, EAMV, Revital Healthcare Limited, Widespectrum Limited, and Vine General Medicare.
